DAWN HEESE QUILT BOOK GIVEAWAY

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!!
I'm delighted to tell you about Dawn Heese's latest quilt book, Cozy Comforts: Quilts and Projects for Every Season. As a quilt book editor, I've had the pleasure of working with Dawn on all three of her books and we are working on a fourth that will come out later this year.

Dawn is back with a new collection of eight handmade comforts to warm your everyday surroundings throughout the year. With her signature flair for whimsy, she designed this imaginative quilt for spring called April Showers

Whether you love pieced or appliquéd quilts, wool appliqué or cross stitch, you will find a project to suit your style in Dawn's new book. Every season features a quilt and companion project such as a pillow or wool mat. Dawn also shares one of her family’s favorite quick and easy recipes for each season: no-bake cheesecake for spring, tortellini salad for summer, apple crisp for fall, and taco soup for winter. For a sneak peek of the book, click here.

I'd love to share a copy of this fun book with one of you! So I'm giving one away. Anyone can enter this giveaway. You do NOT have to be an official follower. To enter, simply leave a comment telling me what your favorite season is and why. This giveaway will end on Tuesday, February 29, at NOON central time. I'll draw the winner randomly and announce the name later that night. The winner will then have until Thursday, March 1 at noon central time to contact me with her/his mailing address.

  7. Fall is my favorite time of year here in the desert southwest. Warm, sunny days with cool, brisk evenings requiring a light jacket. The trees that line the road in our development change to a brilliant golden yellow. That color mixed with evergreens and the cloudless, pristine blue sky is spectacular.

Thanks for a chance to win Dawn's new book. I love applique!

  12. I actually love winter.....always have. I love the freshly fallen snow, especially when there is no wind, and it stays on every single little branch on a tree. When all the trees are covered like that, it's just magical!

  18. Oh Kimber this is hard to choose; I love all the seasons but if I would have to choose I would say spring or summer. Spring because everything is getting ready to bloom, the days getting longer and everyone is in a better mood. Summer because the flowers are blooming, I can sit outside, grill and stitch or read or just enjoy the quietness. Thanks for another wonderful opportunity for a giveaway. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs, Mary A.

  29. I live in Norway and right now we are having winter. Not the usual winter with down to minus 30C, but one with spring feelings. I love the spring when the snow is melting and the flowers are starting to grow. Birds are singing and nesting, and we can feel the sun warming again :)

  30. What a great book, I'd love to win it.

My favorite season is summer. I live at the beach in the very rainy Pacific Northwest, and summer is the only time it isn't raining! I enjoy those rare dry days and take time out to walk down and sit in the warm sand near the dunes, soaking in the sounds, the sun, and watching the waves. And, being a gardener, I love all the blooms and produce that summer brings :-)

  34. My favorite season is winter - with Fall being a close second. All the wonderful things in life happen in the winter -- warm sweaters, Christmas, my BIRTHDAY, yummy meals from the crockpot that cook all day and make the house smell wonderful, quilting, shopping with friends and relatives, more quilting, watching the snow, even more quilting, more snow, lots of time for genealogy research.

  36. I live in Arizona so we do not have a very long spring. The wildflowers are blooming and my grapefruit tree is budding. I just got finished planting my tomatoe plants today. This is the time of year when people enjoy being outdoors before the weather turns HOT. Of course people say but it is a dry heat. Yeah! like an oven blasting hot air hot.

  37. My favorite season is spring. The weather is warm but not too hot. To see all the different greens mingling together in the forests is prettier to me than all the fall colors.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love those umbrellas on the quilt. My favourite season is Autumn (Fall). I love all the colours of the leaves as they change. Thanks for this lovely giveaway.

  39. I have lived most of my life in the South, so my standard answer would be Fall - the nip in the air is such an antidote to all those hot, muggy summer days. However, I have just moved to NE Pennsylvania and I would have to say that Spring will now get my vote - the warmth in the air will be just the ticket after the cold winter days (and, yes, I know... this was not a cold winter up north. Nice way to ease into the move, though!). Thanks for the chance to win such a wonderful book!

  40. My favorite season is the fall because of all the colors and the cooler weather after the heat of summer. I love the umbrellas on the quilt.

  47. I love Spring, and I think it's because flower gardening season is my favorite...mulching, planning new flower beds, and seeing the results of my labors are all special things to me.

  48. Fall - the best weather, cool, crisp, harvest time and gorgeous colour.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I love winter. The cold nights perfect for snuggling under a quilt. Plenty of time to sew in the colder weather and it is not uncomfortable to have a heavy quilt on your lap as you hand sew.
